Regina Kanyu Wang
Author
Born in 1990, Regina Kanyu Wang is a bilingual writer from Shanghai who writes both in Chinese and English, graduate of Fudan University’s MFA program, member of Shanghai Writers’ Association, Shanghai Popular Science Writers’ Association, World Chinese Science Fiction Association and Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association of America. She has won SF Comet international short story competition and multiple Xingyun Award for Global Chinese SF. Her stories can be found in Harvest, Mengya, Shanghai Literature, Hong Kong Literature, West Late, Flower City, Fiction World, Science Fiction World, Southern People Weekly, Galaxy’s Edge, Clarkesworld and selected into various anthologies in China, UK, US and Canada. Her stories have also been translated into English, Spanish, German, Italian and Finnish. She has published two science fiction story collections, Of Cloud and Mist 2.2 and The Seafood Restaurant.
Athena Aktipis
Biologist
Athena Aktipis is an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at Arizona State University, co-Director of the Human Generosity Project and Director of Human and Social Evolution and co-founder of the Center for Evolution and Cancer at the University of California, San Francisco. She is a cooperation theorist, theoretical evolutionary biologist, and cancer biologist who now works at the intersection of these fields. As part of this work, Dr. Aktipis serves as chair of the Zombie Apocalypse Medicine Meeting; hosts of the Zombified podcast, and wrote. the book The Cheating Cell: How evolution helps us understand and treat cancer from Princeton University Press.
