what Can we do during this upcoming general assembly?

44:34
Hi everyone, thank you for your thought-provoking questions! Please continue to submit your questions using the Q&A button at the bottom of the screen.

47:25
We also need to get away from the Market Rate survey - which is very flawed.

48:13
Women, especially women of color, have been forced out the workforce at a frightening pace. Truly shameful.

48:18
4. Slide looks cut off in column under Federal agencies should…

48:33
LOVE this - address workforce equity!!

49:06
The funding disparity and workforce equity go hand in hand.

49:55
A focused pathway for paraprofessionals is a great way to grow the workforce in a sustainable way. Really love this.

50:17
I'm grateful that the T.E.A.C.H. Scholarship Program includes equity standards and monitors for this.

50:18
That is a huge issue here in MN. Our EC educator who are bi-lingual are not given the jobs or the pay they deserve as they work as lead teachers. And then they are not taken seriously by our school admins.

53:20
Racial equity must be tied to funding streams to ensure the practice is being inplemented

53:31
Where and we access the new OCR report Dr Meek mentioned?

54:10
Can you give us some examples of what equity indicators articulated in quality standards might look like? This is a big one that I think needs to happen…

54:35
^^^ So much this, Suzanne. Many teachers have been removed from their current positions as assistant staff, siphoned off to work in school run essential child care, leaving no bilingual staff to serve multilingual families in their own programs. Meanwhile, white (monolingual English-only) licensed teachers are getting full pay, working safely from home.

55:20
Yes!!!! QRIS must systematically across the country hold up strong indicators of equity!!

55:42
Funding has to be tied to mandates

57:22
It's really important that those who are selecting and selected to create equity training are thinking from a lens that goes beyond surface equity jargon and instead demonstrates competency around the tenants of equity/racial equity that actually yield equitable outcomes for kids and disrupt inequitable harmful norms and practices. Very few in the field are doing this well.

57:27
How many of your programs are NAEYC accredited? I am the Accreditation Chair for my state for our board, and I'm finding less and less programs are becoming accredited.

59:40
Here is the link to the report and previous webinars: https://childandfamilysuccess.asu.edu/cep/start-with-equity

01:01:29
Janniqua Dawkins 11:49 AMYes, our original report can be found that was launched over the summer can be found at childandfamilysuccess.asu.edu/cep/initiatives/start-with-equity. Thank you!

01:01:55
Thank you! Great presentation. I have another meeting!

01:03:08

01:05:28
I appreciate the concrete specificity of these strategies. I would add another column which is philanthropy We need specificity in Philanthropy that can be implemented and measured in philanthropy initiatives.

01:05:42
@ Lisa - it's a Dream!!

01:06:21
I appreciate the concrete specificity of these strategies. I would add another column which is philanthropy We need specificity in Philanthropy that can be implemented and measured in philanthropy initiatives.

01:07:21
Only 1 of our 20 programs is NAEYC accredited; funded by the federal government so it's required. Our state quality systems use ratings of 1 to 5 stars. Highly rated programs receive reimbursement from the state that equals the reimbursement associated with NAEYC accreditation.

01:07:48
@Portia agreed, great point.

01:07:52
Can you should slide 13

01:08:38
@ Denise - interesting

01:08:48
I am so sorry I have to leave for another meeting, I hope this will be available later to view and share.

01:09:54
Thank you, Portia!

01:11:17
Dr. Calvin Moore - YES!!

01:11:31
All of our programs have 5 stars in both state (Ohio and Kentucky) quality rating systems. Many of the quality criteria for 5 stars are identical to NAEYC accreditation.

01:12:03
@ Denise - that is awesome! Way go with your programs!! ***** (5 stars is awesome!)

01:12:06
Hi everyone, thank you for your thought-provoking questions! Please continue to submit your questions using the Q&A button at the bottom of the screen. Also, check out the answers to the questions that have recently been answered.

01:21:46
Brilliant!

01:22:06
Leaders in ECE have an obligation to ensure that their teachers are fully educated about the need for equity in early care and education, the impact of centuries of racial oppression and disparities, and the importance of becoming culturally competent.

01:22:07
Love the contributions of the youngest member of the panel too :)

01:28:48
The perpetuation of systemic racism through federalism - yesss! speaks to me as a pediatrician taking care of patients on Medicaid.

01:30:10
Thank you very much for this report and today’s conversations!

01:30:49
Really glad you took create steps Dr Meek--often the difficulty is converting practice and research into anti-racist policy.

01:31:30
Thank you everyone for this wonderful webinar and panel discussion, it's motivating and powerful to hear great words about the great work being done for ECE and equity across the nation! Can't wait to see the good work happening in 2021!!

01:32:00
Will you be sharing the recording or slides with attendees following the webinar?

01:32:18
Thank you!!!

01:32:20
Thank you for the discussion today and in particular, including the voices of so many agencies.

01:32:41
I have to jump into another meeting! Thank you all so much!

01:33:20
Thank you for this interesting discussion - take care :)

01:34:09
Will the report be sent to all participants?

01:34:39
I 100% agree with everything stated but I worry that we will continue to be underfunded. I look at how little our legislators are willing to support us now and how quickly services for young children cut from budgets as if it is a fluff item - which is certainly is not!

01:34:42
I love that this report "let's us know when we get there" and the concept of the collaborative journey!

01:36:25
excellent point about philanthropy, Lauren! thank you!

01:36:51
The Education Trust recently partnered with Heising-Simons Foundation and Bridgespan on a report on how philanthropy can support equitable ECE: https://www.bridgespan.org/insights/library/philanthropy/early-childhood-systems-funding-for-equity-memo

01:38:33
@ Dr. James - Yes as a hiring manager for my program - I bring up equity, but need to do it more and consistently throughout onboarding and continuing training! :)

01:38:55
I'm interested in having conversation about historically and systemically segregated early childhood programs and the impact they have on equity.

01:39:15
Mini golden doodle :-D

01:39:31
@ Sherry - I would be interested in that too
